Who We Are

Ason Group is a specialist traffic and transportation planning and engineering firm providing consultancy services to both the private and public sectors. We provide services related to all aspects of transportation planning and specialise in development approvals and construction certification. Our primary focus is the NSW market in which we work and operate on a daily basis.

Our People

Our employees are all qualified Civil Engineers with experience in planning, construction & delivery and project management. With both local, national and international experience the principals of Ason Group work closely on all projects to ensure the highest standard of service and quality of work. Furthermore, our principals take pride in the relationships we have built with Council and RMS officers that enable Ason Group to efficiently liaise with these key stakeholders to determine and refine the key deliverables of any project.

Director

Andrew Johnson

Andrew has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and has been working in the field of Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning since 2003, establishing Ason Group, a company specialising in Traffic and Transport Planning, in 2014.

Andrew has undertaken numerous projects for both private developers and Government Agencies including Councils, Roads and Maritime Services and Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

Andrew has demonstrated ability in all areas of traffic engineering and transport planning and have been involved in many significant applications including major town centre redevelopments, Masterplan applications, Major Project applications of significance to NSW and re-zoning’s.

Andrew has been trained in and worked with numerous transport planning models and this experience allows him to provide strategic and specialist advice on transport planning issues.

Andrew is familiar with and has been trained in a number of planning packages including SIDRA, AUTOCAD, AUTOTRACK, PARAMICS and LinSig.

Director

Piran Trethewey

Piran is an experienced traffic engineer with expertise in the areas of traffic engineering analysis and assessment. Piran acquired his Bachelor of Civil Engineering in New Zealand and has worked in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, acquiring a broad knowledge base in the traffic and transport industry.

Piran has been involved in various traffic impact assessments for different types of development and land use. He has also undertaken peer reviews of traffic impact studies on behalf of local and state authorities, critically reviewing the traffic methodology and assumptions made by applicants to ensure compliance with the relevant guidelines and standards. Piran has also acted as an Expert Witness for Land and Environment court proceedings.

Piran is an effective communicator and a skilled user of many transport related software packages, including: SIDRA, AUTOCAD, AUTOTRACK, TRICS

Principal Traffic Engineer

Tim Lewis

Tim has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and has been working in the traffic engineering and transport planning industry for over 9 years. During his time, Tim has undertaken numerous projects for both developers and government agencies, including Councils and Transport for NSW, across a range of industry sectors.

Tim has demonstrated ability in all areas of traffic engineering and transport planning and has been involved in many significant studies. More recently, Tim also provides Expert Witness services as part of Land & Environmental Court proceedings. Tim is accredited as a Level 2 Road Safety Auditor.

Past projects have ranged in size from detailed design advice for small residential developments with highly constrained accesses to the preparation of Traffic Impact Assessment and Transport Management and Accessibility Plans for large precinct developments.

Tim has been trained in and worked with numerous transport planning models and this experience allows him to provide strategic and specialist advice on transport planning issues. These models and programs include AutoCAD, AutoTrack, SIDRA, Paramics and LinSig.
